GRADE® is the first wrist-worn wearable option that provides 24/7 transdermal alcohol monitoring for individuals in court-mandated and treatment settings. GRADE® samples the client’s perspiration through a passive sample collection chamber and records the status of all sensors on-board every 5 minute. Using the client’s personal smartphone, the data is sent to Arborsense’s cloud platform and analyzed multiple times a day before pointing out to supervising agencies.

How does Arborsense GRADE® work?

GRADE® detects alcohol vapors transpiring through the skin. When alcohol is consumed, approximately 1% is excreted through insensible perspiration. Using a proprietary graphene-based sensor, GRADE® accurately measures alcohol content in sweat to provide continuous, real-time monitoring.

How is Data Collected?

GRADE® records alcohol sensor data every 5 minutes, including data from 9 other onboard sensors that detect user activity and environmental factors. This data is securely transmitted to the Arborsense Cloud via the upGRADE® app every few hours, where our proprietary algorithm analyzes alcohol levels, detects tampering, and generates alerts for providers.

Is the upGRADE® app available for both Android and iOS?

How long can GRADE® be worn?

GRADE® is designed for continuous wear and lasts up to 4 weeks on a single charge.

Is GRADE® skin-friendly?

Yes, all skin-contact components of GRADE® are hypoallergenic and designed for long-term wear.

Can GRADE® be worn in the shower?

Yes, GRADE® is water-resistant and can be worn during daily activities, including showering. However, it should not be submerged in water (e.g., baths, swimming, or prolonged water exposure).
